Carole Griffiths

Carole was born in Canberra, Australia in the late 50’s and was first drawn to working with glass in the 1980’s, creating leadlight and stained glass windows.
In January 2002, Carole began a jewellery business called – “The Clown Jewels” making very interesting jewellery using gemstones, rare and unusual beads, interesting findings and antique pieces. Carole found it became more and more difficult to find fascinating quality glass beads to team with the gemstones so she investigated the actual making of glass beads.
This propelled Carole into a very exciting adventure through one of Australia’s finer glass artist and teachers, Mr. Peter Minson of Southern Cross Glass. It was only a matter of minutes and Carole was completely captivated. Each and every bead she makes, is absolutely unique..she now incorporates her own glass beads into her ‘one of’ originals.
Carole’s work has been showcased at The Australian Craft Show, the Mind Body and Spirit Festival in Darling Harbour, Sydney, Australia and more recently, the Museum of Art in Montreal, Canada and is now on its way to the UK.
“I love the mesmerising quality of glass and have found this medium so incredibly enthralling and exciting that I have studied lampworking at the Australian National University, Canberra. I have found this work captivates and compliments the fun and happiness that I bring to virtually everything I do”, says Carole.
