Jenny has always been both practical and creative by nature.  She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography for College of Fine Arts, UNSW and a Certificate III in Scientific Photography from Sydney Institute of TAFE. Currently she combines working as a Medical Photographer at Royal North Shore Hospital with creating and selling Glass Lampwork Beads and Jewellery, on the web and around markets in Sydney. She can be found at St Ives Heritage Craft Fair on the first Sunday of each month and Mosman Village Market on the first Saturday of each month.

She has always had a passion for light and alchemy, so when introduced to glass in 2005 she was in her element! First she dabbled in Glass fusing and Glass blowing, before finally discovering the art of Glass Bead-making at the beginning of 2006, which enabled her to build her own studio in which she could create glassy treasures. This is where you find her most days, often till the wee hours of the morning, hypnotised by the flame. It is an understatement to say that she is obsessed and very passionate about Lampwork Bead-making.

Many of these beads have been created using tools that she has made herself, including optic molds for creating murrini or millefiori. The results are beads that are both distinctly Australian yet classically inspired by Italian design. Her style is constantly evolving and she has taken classes from some of her favourite bead-making artists such as Sarah Hornik, Jan Cahill and Jim Smircich. She is an exciting artist to watch and follow well into the future and is grateful to be part of the team here at Northcoast Beadmakers.
