Su Bishop

It was a natural progression for Su to move to jewellery and glass working. Su worked as a fashion designer for several Adelaide boutiques before she moved to the North Coast - the North West Coast! Sue lives and works in Exmouth in the far north west of Australia, close to the world famous, and quite remarkable, Ningaloo Reef.
Su's glass is heavily influenced by the colours and forms of the Ningaloo Reef and the North West Cape, where the desert meets the ocean. The natural blues, sage greens and desert reds feature in many of her beads, as do the reef fishes, turtles and the organic forms of the reef. Su also likes the dramatic reactive effects of glasses and metals and to experiment with other media. Su is fascinated by colour and form. The desire to push the boundaries keeps her work alive and dynamic.
When she's not working with glass or textiles, Su makes the most of the environment she lives in - diving, kayaking, sailing, fishing or just walking the beaches with Frufie, her French Bulldog. Su rates the wonder of swimming with the whale sharks off Ningaloo Reef as one of her most memorable experiences.
However, Su keeps coming back to glass working - as she says - IT'S ADDICTIVE!
