Tracy Brown

Tracy has been exposed to and tried many different art forms from a very young age: pottery, photography, mosaics, ceramic painting and jewellery making, to name just a few.
Tracy’s first great love was photography and she studied for three years in that amazing medium, with her passion being for creating fine art images through alternative processes such as using polaroid transfers, liquid emulsion, and toning of archivally printed images.
Tracy is currently working with soft glass, creating Art Glass Beads and original unique jewellery pieces. The Art Glass Beads go hand in hand with jewellery making; each feeding the other...."I love creating jewellery from my beads and I love creating beads to use in my jewellery".
Tracy uses a wide range of different beads and materials in her jewellery...from her art glass beads and NZ Paua shell to Australian native wooden beads. She uses a range of different wires including silver, gold filled, copper & brass and is a self confessed beadaholic!!!
Tracy feels that she has found a wonderful medium and she adores everything about glass; from the way it moves to the amazing reactions that can occur when mixing different colours and adding silver or gold to it. It is a tireless medium and her aim with her beads and jewellery is to make wearable works of art that make a statement about the wearer....."that we are all special, unique individuals and in wearing this jewellery & artglass beads we choose to celebrate our uniqueness".
